Hello my name is Rachel Purdey and I am a Professionally Qualified Registered Medical Herbalist based in West Yorkshire. Using natural medicine, dietary and lifestyle advice, I empower people to regain control of their health and wellbeing; to get well and stay well.

I hold a 3 year Diploma in Herbal Medicine, graduating with distinction and was an award winning student during my studies. My qualification in Herbal Medicine included a minimum of 500 clinic hours and incorporated in depth training in anatomy, physiology, clinical examination, pathology, pharmaceutical medicine, nutrition, functional medicine, botany, biochemistry, diagnostic skills, differential diagnosis, Phytotherapy and the science and tradition of herbal medicine. 

 

Previously a professional social worker for 20 years, I am highly skilled at coaching people to problem solve and getting to the heart of what is really important to them. I work alongside individuals to help them set achievable goals and affect positive change.

My experience includes several years working in addiction therapy, supporting people with drug, alcohol and other addiction issues.

I am Registered with the National Institute of Medical Herbalists and as such must adhere to a strict code of ethics and undertake continuing professional development. Members of this professional body must have a degree level training in herbal medicine.
